As the end-of-year holidays approach, the streets are decked out in red, green and gold and a magical atmosphere sets in, overlooked by illuminated fir trees and the intoxicating smell of mulled wine. Vibrating to the rhythm of these festivities, Paris is certainly no exception to the rule. Aside from the Christmas markets, ice rinks and decorated galleries, here is our selection of December events to enchant your days.
The Lido, the legendary Paris cabaret, becomes the Lido 2 Paris. Rising from its ashes, this phoenix presents the play CABARET for its reopening. Discover an American musical comedy, the story of Clifford Bradshaw, a young American writer who, during a trip to Berlin in the early 1930s, falls in love with Sally Bowles. A revue leader at the Kit Kat Klub, the latter tries to make the spectators forget the troubled times ahead, but dreams of becoming a star.
The fertile city welcomes you for an immersive and committed journey. Mapping of the cosmos, giant installations, upcycled creations, scenography, illuminations… The city of wonders is a call to more than 10 artists and collectives to transform the spaces of the fertile city into a unique journey. A stroll over more than 8000m2 of which you will be the protagonist to raise awareness among young and old about climate challenges.
This fall, the old Saint Ouen ice rink is hosting a street art exhibition like no other. For the occasion, 35 street artists including Banksy, OBEY, Kaws and Invader are taking over the venue to offer you an artistic experience that is out of time and off the beaten track. On the program, free and creative workshops for young and old to learn screen printing, drawing or even graphism, as well as DJ sets and rap and electro concerts.
Imagine 2,500 water jets over 15 meters high, 500 special effects, 26 multi-colored projectors: it's the Féerie des Eaux du Grand Rex, in the large hall entirely redecorated in Christmas colors. This year, this fabulous show will be preceded by the cartoon Puss in Boots 2: The Last Quest, a world exclusive for 2 weeks during this event, a great way to discover a magical show with the family.
